As the transport layer may differ between operating systems, all AppLink™ communication is handled by the AppLink libraries. For this reason, successful enablement of a mobile application is more dependent on the OS version installed in each device, than which device is actually used.

However, this does not mean there are no limitations. For example, Bluetooth® technology adoption varies between OS and individual devices, and many different device OEMs have different transport protocols. Each combination of the variances may present a different opportunity when developing an AppLink™-enabled application.
This is why Ford requires testing on a wide range of device, OS, and network combinations.
Devices that present compatibility or development challenges will be listed here. Please check back from time to time should you have any questions.
